Membership

Why join the Friends of the Library? Your membership contributes by:

  • Supporting a variety of programs for both adults and children that the library’s annual budget can’t completely cover.
  • Extending, by the hours that you volunteer, the ability of the paid staff to meet patron needs.
  • Advocating for literacy, which is more important than ever. The Justice Department says, “The link between academic failure, delinquency, violence and crime is welded to reading failure.”
  • Ensuring that the library continues to be an integral part of a thriving community providing a place to go for internet and computer access, genealogy research, reading readiness programs, help with on-line job applications, book clubs and much more.
  • Allowing the library to continue being “a window to the world and an inspiration to explore through reading and research” for future generations.

What do you get out of your membership?

  • You will meet like-minded people who enjoy service and have a passion for books.
  • You will meet people from the Spring Hill community who enjoy reading and supporting the Spring Hill Public Library and want it to continue to be one of the best in the state.
  • Members can purchase books and other items at the Members Only Early Bird Book Sale that is held the Friday night before the Quarterly Book Sales.
  • Any member who works during the quarterly or pop-up book sales receives 50% off the purchase of any books they select during the sale.
  • You can see the tangible results of your contribution – new equipment, new software, new furniture, new programs, and much more.

NOTE: Once you become a member, you can show your support by purchasing a Friends of the Library t-shirt!

The t-shirts may be purchased at:  Impressions/Winning Moves  1012 South Garden Street, Columbia (931)380-9229.
