The Board of Directors of the Friends of the Library (FOL) is composed of a minimum of five (5) members, no more than nine (9) selected from the general membership. New Board members are elected at-large at the last regular meeting of the Friends of the Library in November of each year. The new Board will elect its officers at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Board in January of the following year. There are four designated officer positions (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) and one or more at-large positions. Current Board members’ responsibilities are:
President
- The President is responsible for overall leadership and management of the FOL. The President helps create the vision for the FOL and future activities. The President is the “face” of the FOL in public venues. The President sets all meeting agendas, presides at all meetings, calls special meetings when necessary and coordinates voting via email when required.
Vice President
- The Vice President assists the President in planning and will act in the President’s place if the President is absent.
Secretary
- The Secretary is responsible for taking, publishing, and maintaining a record of all meeting minutes.
Treasurer
- The Treasurer maintains all financial records, collects money from various sources and disburses when required. The Treasurer also files all State and Federal reports and tax returns.
At-large Members
- At-large members participate in all Board activities and assume responsibility as necessary for special projects.
